Don’t fight unless you know you will win

You should be looking to fight rival families as you advance throughout the game, but don’t start a fight unless you are sure you will win. Fight a family that has less members than you, and has less powerful weapons. This way you stack the odds completely in your favor. Don’t fight someone just because they robbed you, this will just waste time and resources. Take your revenge when you become bigger and more powerful, then you can take advantage of them.

Don’t buy properties unless you can protect them

As you get more money from doing jobs you should be looking to invest that money into properties. But before you invest any money you need to focus on growing your Mafia family as they will be the ones that will protect your investment from attacks. Don’t just build hotels and casinos unless you have a strong Mafia, otherwise someone will just rob you.

Don’t spend Godfather points on useless items

There will always be times when you will be tempted by different items that you will have to buy with your Godfather points. Don’t waste your points on these. They are hard to come by and are extremely valuable so hang on to your points because you will also need them later on in the game.

Don’t waste your skill points

There are many ways you can improve your character by spending your skill points. But don’t waste them on your character’s attack or defence rating. You should be spending your money on buying strong weapons and armor, which is what will increase your attack and defence rating significantly. Don’t spend your skill points in this area, it won’t be as effective as the weapons and armor you buy.

Don’t bank money unless it makes sense

Sometimes putting your money in the bank is a smart option. If you get attacked you can’t lose money if it’s in the bank. However, there is a 10% laundering fee every time you bank some cash. This is important. Calculate how much money you lose every day compared to how much that fee costs you. So if you find you’re losing 2% of your money every day, it makes no sense to bank your money and lose 10% there. Just keep it out in the open. You’ll get robbed, but you’ll lose less money than if you were safe and put it in the bank.
